AQUARIUM/BOAT DIVE
(MOST FISHY DIVE SITE AT PSIRA ISLAND)
DIVING DEPTHS 5 TO 30 METERS
Not without reason this dive site is called Aquarium. Here countless species of fish, such as monk fish and barracudas, congregate in huge schools in crystal clear water. Cuttlefish, groupers and moray eels can also be seen from time to time. Here it is definitely worth to stop for a moment and watch the hustle and bustle under water.
MIKRI AMMO/BOAT DIVE
(DIVE SITE IN THE WEST OF PSIRA ISLAND)
DIVING DEPTHS 4 TO 30 METERS
This fish-rich dive site is named after the small beach of Psira Island near which it is located. Here divers can not only admire the variety of fish, but also be accompanied by them on the dive. With a little luck, there is a chance to spot squid and octopus among the sea grass. Groupers, barracudas and moray eels can also be found in the clear water.
TSOUGRIA/BOAT DIVE
(NORTHEAST COAST OF PSIRA ISLAND TOWARDS THE OPEN SEA)
DIVING DEPTHS FROM 5 TO 40+ METERS
This dive site is one of the most spectacular big fish dive sites in Crete due to its special location. A small bay open to the sea, in front of a stepped rocky slope, is one of the most sought after dive sites for tuna, amberjack, grouper, barracuda, and nudibranch.
AVYSSOS/BOAT DIVE
(CREVICE NEAR THE QUARRY)
DIVING DEPTHS 5 TO 40+ METERS
“The Crack” is one of our most recent discoveries and always harbors new surprises even for the dive crew. But it is for sure that the crack, which is formed by two big rock walls, is something special even for experienced divers. Also the wildlife on the rock face and numerous, almost vertical cliffs make divers’ hearts beat faster. Why we affectionately call the dive site Avyssos (Greek for abyss), you will have to find out for yourself.
ALTSI/BOAT DIVE
(NATURAL HARBOR NEAR THE GYPSUM QUARRY)
DIVING DEPTHS 5 TO 40+ METERS
A steady, sloping rocky slope ending in sand provides habitats for a wide variety of fish and plant species. Among the most abundant fish species here may well be the groupers. The perfect place for deep dives!
SMALL HALAVRO/BOAT DIVE
(NEAR THE ISLAND OF MOCHLOS)
DIVING DEPTHS 8 TO 20 METERS
The reef plateau, which begins at twelve meters and slopes down in steps, is a habitat for bream, parrot fish, sea junker, snails and crustaceans. A scenic highlight is also provided by rocks in the shape of an amphitheater.
VOUKOLA/BOAT DIVE
(ON THE EASTERN CLIFFS OF MOCHLOS BAY)
DIVING DEPTHS 3 TO 25 METERS
“The Shepherd’s Embrace” is visually one of the most beautiful dive sites in all of Crete. By boat you can reach a grotto with steeply rising cliffs, as well as an embedded cave with an archway that starts on land and ends in the sea. In terms of fish species, we can find here everything from the smallest sardine, to the big ray that the diver’s heart desires. At this dive site there is also an underwater cave. Here you can see shrimp up close and also individual air-filled cavities on the ceiling of the cave offer a unique experience.
LIMENARIA/SHORE DIVE
(SHALLOW WATER DIVE SITE NEXT TO THE HARBOR OF MOCHLOS)
DIVING DEPTH UP TO 12 METERS
Stony and sandy bottom, ideal for the first dives after the pool lessons, as well as the first introductory dives in the sea. Countless fish species of the smaller kind cavort here. Various tunnels and swim-throughs provide a wonderful diving experience even for experienced divers. A great place for nice dives too.
MOCHLOS VILLAGE/SHORE DIVE
(SHALLOW WATER DIVE SITE DIRECTLY IN MOCHLOS VILLAGE)
DIVING DEPTH UP TO 8 METERS
The clear water and unique rock formations offer a great introduction to the diving career through depths that vary depending on the rock formations. For beginners as well as for already experienced divers this dive site offers perfect conditions. Octopuses, monk fish, barracudas, sponges of all kinds and crystal-clear water make the dive an experience. This dive site is also a great place for night dives too.
